No doubt, the garbage is encouraging animals. Here is how I got the garbage bins not accessible for them [unless they are well trained by somebody, ;)] I have no problems since I made that. I have <a href="http://www.diyillustrated.com/?p=104" rel="nofollow">pictures to illustrate</a>.

There is a much easier solution to keep raccoons out of the garbage cans. Check out www.raccoonsolutions.com No installation necessary - even a teenager can do it!
[Dak - The installation is about the same as my free design, but it is quite robust. I've been trying this out. Downside: not everybody who uses it closes it up when done, but it's pretty good. The search for the elusive perfect raccoon lock goes on]

Le nod. The best teams I've worked with have always had people who were good generalists. They've also been in small companies with no room for deadwood. I think these are strongly correlated.

I agree with you, hand coding is a waste of money and time. It is useful knowledge to have, because some things are just easier to get into the code and change or fix, but the fact is if you know how to use most development tools you can do the same job more than 10 times faster.

I build websites, run an online store and a marketing company all on my own, with very little help. I have an accountant, a friend who does web development when I get bogged down, and some people to help out with logos and things like that.

Companies should look for well rounded individuals for their teams.

Don't know about you gents, but when I hear someone bellyaching about "it's not scalable" - they:
a: have no proof
b: are likely never to be so successful as to ever worry about it
c: simply don't like the proposed solution, for whatever reason, and like throwing out this red herring to see if the project can be derailed (no pun intended, probably) so easily

My buck $3.50... :)

I'll echo Chris - to be sitting on a pile of cash to invest NOW would be very good indeed.

Takes a strong stomach to invest when (most days) the market is in a downward trend. Then again, I dollar cost averaged my investment in Apple around 2000 when people were (again) saying Apple's days were numbers. That investment is STILL up aroud 800% for me.

If only all investments worked out that well!
